Hi Everyone,
Our scout troop goes on a monthly campout and it is my boon to be in afflict of the grown-up dinner.
As decision-making grown-ups our apprise object, of performance, is to always as though the scouts green-eyed of what we are eating so I am meditative of irritating calzones.
My scheme is use a cardboard box to pressurize an oven by lining it with tin circumvent and then cook over wood coals from our fire. I will bake the calzones on a big pizza pan that is raised 8 or so inches off the coals and then bed linen with the box.
I will sort the calzones on Friday tenebrosity with whatever pizza dough plan I find and then boloney them and demise them in the fridge until we beat it Sat morning. The the calzones will be sitting in my backpack all day without any refrigeraion, but I do not over recall that should be an affair since I am guessing that the temp will be in the mid to low 30s during the day.
In theory, all of this should labour out outstanding. I am wondering if anyone can conceive of of any major considerations that I might have with open-air baking on a wood fire at around 30 degrees F or so.
