Will taping up front-facing vents on over-the-range microwave with exhaust be OK?
I'm venting the exhaust up to my roof. There are diverge vents near the top of the unit that would be used to vent the exhaust into the kitchen if there was no exterior venting available. The lacquer on my cabinets above those vents is starting to peel

Incredibly, there's no mutilation. Neither the ceiling nor the cabinets are so much as discolored. Apparently the underside of the exhaust hood was cleaner than I rationality. Had that debris caught fire, I would have missed my deadline completely.
