how can i clean kitchen hood fan that is extremely greasy?

i moral removed it from under the cabinet , opened it up , the fan is exposed now but still mounted on the chasis. This is the first hour i do this cleaning inorder to improve the fan efficiency after 23 years in espionage

two words ....GREASE LIGTHNING!! ha its an acual degreaser not making it up workes real also lestoil is good any degreaser really but the two mentioned above i would exceptionally recommend also "easy off oven cleaner" is consummate as well
