How difficult is it to remove wall-mounted light and replace with a ceiling-mounted light?

My 1910 about has several wall-mounted lights. They drive me nuts because they have no wall switches, and so you must fumble around in the swarthy to switch the light on at the fixture itself.

I would like to convert these wall mounted

I'm working on the assumption that you have access to the attic.
1) Repulse off power to wall mounted fixtures.
2) Remove them.
3) Cap off wires and install passive plate.
4) Cut hole in ceiling for electrical box.
