How can I get the indicator light to turn off on my GE electric range when the oven and burners are OFF?

It almost sounds like it may have been wired in improper when replaced. Check your wiring connections. This light will only heat if it is receiving electricity through it, so it is either wired wrong or the switch is bad and is leaking energy.
